Alan Edward Ford, 75, of Peoria Il, formerly of Lacon , Il , passed away on March 21,2024 at his home with his family . Born in Peoria on August 24,1948 to the late Max Ernie and Jaqueline ( Kessler) Ford. He married Konnie Daugherty on February 28,1970, they were married for 54 years, she survives. Alan is also survived by his daughters, Gina (Tim) McCoy of Bartonville, Joelie (Jimmy) Edwards of West Peoria, and granddaughters Melina and Kaia McCoy, as well as nieces and nephews .

He was preceded in death by his parents , and siblings Helen Ford, Tina Schaefer, Laura Pentecost, and his beloved brother Hugh Ford. Also preceded in death by his Stepmother Havadna Becker and step siblings Johanna and Susan . Step siblings Holly and Laurel Becker survive.

Alan spent most of his career at Caterpillar working his way up from Apprentice to Tool Manufacturing Engineer . He also worked at many Tooling companies after he retired .

Alan enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, rock hounding , gardening, and fixing or building anything and everything. Always there to lend a hand .

Alan was a loving, intelligent, funny, keeper of random knowledge and dad jokes . He was an amazing Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Father-in-law, Neighbor and Friend. His strong will to keep fighting was an inspiration to us all. Gone but not forgotten.

There will be no formal services , but a private family memorial . Cards can be sent from and condolences left at illinicremation.com
