Carl W. Friesz

Carl W. Friesz, 60, of Manito, IL, died on July 17, 2022, at his home after a short but fierce battle with lung cancer. He was born February 17, 1962 in East St. Louis, Illinois to the late Leonard and Dorothy (Fink) Friesz.

Carl is survived by his brother Paul (Susie) Friesz of Manito and Kenny (Connie) Friesz of Sun City Center, FL; niece Ashley (Chad Andrews) of Galesburg; nephews Keegan of Pekin and Devin of Washington, IL; and one great niece and nephew. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Leonard and Steve.

Carl worked as a union pipefitter (Local 353) for over 30 years and was an excellent welder. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and restoring old motorcycles. He was a member of the North American Kawasaki Triples Club.

Cremation rights have been accorded and a graveside burial of ashes at Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito will be held at a later date.
