Charles Conrad “Chuck” Wieland, 67, died on June 28, 2024 at his residence in Peoria Heights, Illinois. Born on December 8, 1956 in Peoria to Conrad and Lillian (Smith) Wieland, Chuck was a Master Mechanic throughout his life.
Chuck spent time working at Mitsubishi from the first hires in until they quit making the automobiles at the Bloomington Plant with a total of 26 years for Mitsubishi. He came home and opened his own garage to fix automobiles at his home so he could enjoy his time working, jumping in the pool, riding his Harley, attending his granddaughter Mckenzie’s softball games, and having his family over to visit.
Chuck is survived by his father Conrad of Morton Illinois; significant other Roberta Wieland of Peoria Heights; sons Michael of Peoria, Ryan Wieland of Peoria, and Nicolas Wieland of Peoria; stepson Dain Vanoverschelde of Greenwood Arkansas; stepdaughter Jennifer Stephens of Peoria; grandchildren Gabriel Stephens-Sutter, McKenzie Wieland, and Madison Wieland. His brothers; Rick Wieland of Lacon, Mark Wieland of Peoria, Greg Smith of Peoria, Tyler Smith of Peoria, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Lillian.
Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be a celebration of life at a later date. Cards can be sent from and condolences left at illinicremation.com.
