Chester Clarke Imbler, 89, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 in his daughter’s home surrounded by her family. He was born September 14, 1933, son of Chester and Jeanette (Ferguson) Imbler. He married his high school sweetheart, June Ann Wenger, on December 20, 1953 in Kokomo, IN. She preceded him in death on June 24, 2020. He is survived by his children Stewart (Michelle) Imbler and Jeanette Lynne (Francis) Lucente. His five grandchildren; Shelley and John (Leora) Imbler; Mark, Angelo, and Cecilia Lucente and two great grandchildren, Cailyn Payne and Pierce Imbler; his brother John M. (Toni) Imbler, along with several nieces and nephews. Clarke graduated from Kokomo High School in 1951. He received his B.A in Psychology from Indiana University in 1954 and his M.A. in Psychology from University of Buffalo in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army as a Personnel Psychologist. During the majority of Clarke and June’s marriage they resided in Naperville, IL. They were very active at First Christian Church where he served as an Elder and Sunday School Teacher. He began his career at the Alliance of American Insurers as a Property Insurance Analyst. In 1995 he retired holding the position of Executive Vice President. Clarke’s hobbies included church life, singing, reading, crossword puzzles, motorcycle rides, cruise ship trips, and most importantly, his family. Cremation rites have been accorded through Illini Cremation, and a military service will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL on August 1 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Salvation Army.
