Ellis Denton McGowan

Mr. Ellis Denton McGowan was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, July 17, 1932 to the late Asa Green McGowan and Idha Sarah (Davenport) McGowan.

Ellis retired from Caterpillar in 1980 and was owner and operator of Peoria Garage, Also known as Ellis McGowan Towing. He was served in the Army National Guard in Lebanon Tennessee.

He lived life to the fullest with his family, friends, towing and his four dogs.

 Ellis passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Methodist Hospital in Peoria Illinois.

Ellis McGowan is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Ellis is survived by his wife of 73 years Margaret McGowan, his children, Susie, Sarah and Al. Ellis also had numerous grandkids + great grandkids along with Four loving dogs.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cards can be sent from and condolences left at illinicremation.com.
