George William Mullen Sr.

George W. Mullen Sr., 87, of East Peoria Illinois, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on September 6, 2023.

George was born in Peoria on September 16, 1935, the son of Irene Bastain and Frank Mullen. He is survived by 3 of his children: George (Cathy) Mullen Jr of East Peoria, Diana (Keith) Schierer of Washington, Brenda (Dawn Compise) Mullen Of Rodgersville Alabama; daughter in law Lynn Mullen of Edgar Wisconsin; 9 grandchildren: Jim, Dawn, April, George, Nichole, Jay, Michael, Lindi, Steven; and 20 step grandchildren.

George was preceded by his first wife Linda Sparks, second wife Phyllis Farmer, son James (Lynn) Mullen of Edgar Wisconsin, and his 11 siblings.

George was a distributor of RC Cola for over 25 years. Being an entrepreneur bringing bars and restaurants their soft drinks led to him owning a few of them. He was always was thinking of ways to make money. He was an avid card player, bingo player, and loving father. Family all lived in the area and cards on Friday with them was the tradition that he instilled in his kids.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held on September 17 at the K of C hall in Morton from 1-3pm. Memorials in Georges name can be made to Northwoods Community Church. Cards can be sent from and condolences left at illinicremation.com.
