Gerald Wayne Reeves

Gerald “Gerry” Wayne Reeves, 76, of Peoria, IL passed away at 12:20pm on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Carle Methodist Hospital after a deterioration in extended health issues. Gerald was born in Peoria on May 28, 1948, the son of Walter A. and Lois Reeves (Smith). He married Frances Reeves in Peoria on April 26, 1980. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Frances of Peoria; his sister, Kathy (Randy Wright) of Henderson, NV, and his brother, Douglas (Carolyn) Reeves of Henderson, NV, as well as his nieces and nephews.

Gerald graduated from Spalding Institute in 1966, attended Illinois Central College, and was honorably discharged from the United States Army after a brief term of service in Germany. He was a supervisor at the Caterpillar Mossville Hose Plant, retiring in 2005. Gerry was a staunch supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals, an avid and distinguished collector of stoneware crocks, and enjoyed all varieties of antiques. Gerry was a long-time member of the Illinois Collectors of Stoneware and Pottery. 

Gerry chose to forego memorial services. His wish was for his cremated remains to be reposed into one his crocks until he can be joined by his wife of forty-four years, at which time they will be interred together.
