Gloria D. Taylor

Gloria Taylor, 74, of Peoria Illinois, died on November 3, 2022 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria Illinois. Born on January 15, 1948 to the late Aaron and Johnella (Loggins) Walton, she married Floyd Taylor on June 5, 2005. Floyd passed on June 2, 2014.
Gloria loved to garden and was the best cook around. She loved watching Big Brother, reading mystery books, and trying new recipes. In her younger years Gloria really enjoyed having family over to play cards. Being around family and spending time with them is what she truly enjoyed. She was the centerpiece of the family and kept everyone close. Gloria wore many hats: wife, mom, motivator, psychiatrist, sister, the voice of reason, and would give you a good butt kicking if needed. She was truly everything and there will never be another like her. The greatest woman We have ever known, we love you mom.
Gloria is survived by her sons Darnell Hunter, Andree (Jamie Davis) Hunter both of Peoria; sister Lou Moore of Peoria; brother Aaron (Linda) Walton Jr. of Peoria; grandchildren Heather Krus of Peoria, Andree (Katie) Hunter II of Springfield, Antavious Hunter & Xavier Hunter both of Peoria, Annalia Hunter of Galesburg; great grandchildren Delajah, Demerryah, Demetrius, and Delainey; special childhood friends Simon and Elnora Gillam. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers Oliver “Honey” Walton and James “Bubba” Walton, sister Marie Griffin, grandchildren Aaron Hunter and Darnell Hunter Jr., and great granddaughter Amerycle Drummond.
Cremation rites have been accorded a memorial will be held on Saturday November 12 at 2pm at The Kingdom Hall 6007 N. Big Hollow Road Peoria, IL 61614. illinicremation.com is assisting the family.
