Henry Garcia Jr.

Henry Garcia Junior 65 of Peoria Illinois died on December 5, 2022 at OSF St. Francis in Peoria surrounded by his family. He was born on July 27^th 1957 to Henry Garcia Sr and Josefina Garcia. He left us, to join his parents and brother, Rick Garcia in Heaven.

Surviving Henry are his three children, Jeff (Denise) Garcia of North Pekin, IL , Henry (Cassie) Garcia III of Bartonville, IL , and Angelica (Jessie) Evans of Peoria, IL. Henry also leaves behind his grandchildren, Samantha, Brooklynn, Jeremiah, Jasmine, Gabe, and Gabe. Henry also leaves behind his beloved dog, Fernando, his sister Nancy (Dale) Andrews, sister in law Sue Braxton Garcia, and many nieces and nephews.

Henry attended Trewyn Middle School and graduated from Manual High School. He worked at Peoria Autobody, Maaco Paint and Body. He served as a police officer for the Peoria Park District and Elmwood Police.

Henry loved the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Cubs, road trips, fishing, spending time with friends, going to breakfast, bowling, cooking, shopping and listening to the scanner, but more than that, he loved his family. Henry always attended grandparents’ day for his grandchildren, and sporting events. Saturday and Sunday breakfast was a ritual that was only broken due to failing health. Henry carried on a traditional “tamale day”, where the family got together to make large batches of tamales to be frozen and devoured throughout the upcoming months. Henry’s family and friends knew if Henry was in the kitchen, you were eating an authentic Mexican recipe, and you were going home happy. He treated everyone he met with kindness, a smile, and most women he met, with some kind of one liner to make them blush.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at the Peoria Elks Lodge 1 Elks Dr., Peoria, IL 61604 from 3 PM to 6 PM. Cards can be sent from and condolences left at illinicremation.com.
