James Allen Bishop

James Allen Bishop, 71, of Washington Illinois, died on April 13, 2024 at OSF St Francis Medical Center in Peoria Illinois. James was born on February 1, 1953 in Peoria to James and Mary Christine (Hamm) Bishop of East Peoria. James loved playing the guitar, listening to music, fixing things, his Jeeps, and America. He worked at Caterpillar running a radial drill and wash tank at KK, driving a fork truck in Morton, and was a chipper at Mapleton, retiring after 30 years. He also worked for KDH driving semis during Caterpillar strikes.

James is survived by his mother Mary of East Peoria; son Kai (Stephanie) Bishop of Tremont Illinois; daughter Keri (Nathan) Montgomery of Metamora Illinois; sisters Rita Davis of East Peoria, Brenda Forcum of East Peoria; and five grandsons: Cole Bishop, Chase Bishop, Ethan Montgomery, Nolan Montgomery, and Cameron Montgomery. He was preceded in death by his father and sister Linda Hamm.

Cremation rites have been accorded and his ashes will be spread around a memorial tree at a later date. Cards can be sent from and condolences left at illinicremation.com.
