LaDerek Gerome Thomas

LaDerek Gerome Thomas, 34, of Peoria Illinois, died on April 3, 2024 at OSF St Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born on August 30, 1989 in Brewton Alabama to Jimmy Dortch and Gloria Thomas, LaDerek was a cook for 10 years.

LaDerek enjoyed gaming and hanging out with family & friends. He would sit around talking mess and having a good time. He would also argue with you about anything, but spending time with his son Jeremiah is what he loved most.

LaDerek is survived by his mother Gloria Dortch of Peoria IL; son Jeremiah Thomas and his son’s mother Amber Glotfelty of Carterville IL; sister LaKendra Thomas of Peoria IL; and brother Jeremy Thomas and Erika Thomas of Peoria IL; 3 aunts, 4 uncles, 4 great aunts and a host of cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Jimmy Dortch, grandmothers Earnestine Thomas and Beulah Dortch, and great grandmother Betsy Fountain.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held on April 13th at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 410 S. Olive St. Peoria, Illinois, at 2pm. Cards can be sent from and condolences left at illinicremation.com
