Marvin Andrew Hawley, 67, of Oglesby Illinois, died on February 24, 2025 at OSF St Francis Medical Center in Peoria Illinois. Born on June 29, 1957 to the late Arthur and Dorothy (Rakowski) Hawley, he graduated from Tonica High School in 1976 and served his country in the Army Reserves. Marvin is survived by his children Lindsay (Steve) Rodda, Amanda (Chuck) Barron, Kayla (Jon) Miller, Keshia (Dan) Wenninger, Kaden Hawley, Kiara Hawley; brother Martin (Merlene) Hawley; grandchildren, Kirsten, Hayley, Natalie, Jackson, Ethan, Zack, Noah, Kyra, Riley, Kamden, Charles, Kali, AJ, Kollette, and one great-grandson Owen. He was preceded in death by his sister Marcy (Tom) Allen and Marie (Marv) Foltyneiwicz.
Marvin had many hobbies and deep commitments. He had a passion for creating large-scale Civil War miniature reenactments, meticulously crafting detailed dioramas that brought history to life. This hobby allowed him to combine his love for history with his talent for model building. Beyond his historical recreations, Marvin found joy in tending to his yard and spending time outside.
Professionally, he dedicated many years to Vactor Manufacturing as a CNC laser operator, and served on the Safety Committee. Marvin retired in 2024. Above all, he cherished time spent with family and friends, always expressing pride in their achievements and offering unwavering support.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at Amercan Legion 15 N La Salle St, Tonica, IL 61370 on Wednesday February 26th, 2025 from 5 to 7PM. Cards can be sent from or condolences left at illinicremation.com.
