Richard Allen “Mex” Hess, 58, of Peoria, Illinois passed away on January 12, 2023 while taking care of his best friend in her home. Richie was born on May 2, 1964 in Peoria, IL to Alfred “Bud” Hess and RoseMary (Hess) Patterson.
Mex loved his sons and grandchildren dearly. He enjoyed every moment of life. He was the true definition of a rolling stone. He enjoyed his movies, such as “The Outsiders” and “Warriors.” Healso enjoyed his music, such as Aerosmith and Kiss. He was a member of The Voltars Motorcycle Club alongside his dad and two brothers. He enjoyed drinking his Miller High Life, or his “Tall Blondes” as he would call them.
Mex was a self-employed carpenter, doing lots of odd jobs for anyone who needed his expertise. He was the kindest person with a big heart and would give anyone the shirt off his back. His smile and laughter were infectious.
He is survived by his two sons, Joshua Hess and Jonathon Hess, both of Peoria IL; six
grandchildren, Scarlett, Jacorion, Joshua Jr., Estella, Jonathon, and Anna-Kay; his mother, RoseMary (Dennis) Patterson of Marquette Heights IL; his father, Alfred Hess of Peoria IL; two brothers, Danny (Lisa) Hess of Pekin IL, Randy Hess of Peoria IL; three sisters, Tammy (Kurt) Boehme of Taylorville IL, Penny (Armando) Gonzales of Marquette Heights IL, and Mandy Hess of Bartonville IL; many nieces and nephews; and two of his best friends, Marie and Rhonda,
plus so many more.
Richie will be greatly missed and remembered fondly by many. Cards can be sent from and condolences left at illinicremation.com
