Russell Dale Bushman

Russell Dale Bushman, 77, of Peoria Illinois, died on September 7, 2024, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. He was born on September 9, 1946, to the late John and Mary (Lillard) Bushman in Peoria.

Russell served in the US Army during the Vietnam War stationed in Germany.  Following his military service, Russell dedicated many years of his life working on the assembly line at Caterpillar. His greatest joy came from being his grandchildren's #1 fan, traveling around town to cheer them on in their various sports year-round. He was a Proud member of UAW 974, the American Legion, and Moose Lodge. Russell had a profound love for the outdoors especially at his beloved cabin on Spring Lake.  Spending countless hours tinkering with his yard, boats, trucks, motorcycles, and fishing were some of his favorite pastimes.  Known as a master of all trades, there was little he couldn't fix.  

Russell is survived by his children: Kimberly Bushman, Angela (Shawn) Sollberger, Eric (Becki) Bushman; grandkids: Savannah Bushman, Jacob Sollberger, Gabby Avila, Jenna Sollberger, Julia Sollberger, Nora Bushman, and sister, Sue Friling. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and a Celebration of Life will be held this Sunday, September 15th.
