Sherry Lynn Reed, 66, of Peoria IL, died on June 6, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was Born on February 5, 1956 in Peoria to John and Joyce (Mannon) Lucas.
Surviving is her mother (Marilyn) Joyce Seelye of Creve Coeur Illinois; her first husband Robert (DeAnn) Reed of Washington Illinois ; her children Tracy (Jim) Harbaugh of Raleigh North Carolina, Duane (Jennifer) Reed of Washington Illinois; her former long-term partner Mistie Morgan of Pearl Illinois; step daughter Nicole (Tony) Whirrell of Washburn Illinois; grandchildren Brooklyn, Remington, & Clayton Harbaugh of Raleigh North Carolina, Seth, Hunter, Evan, & Grace Reed of Washington Illinois, AJ, Daniel, Eli, & Hope Whirrell of Washburn Illinois. Also surviving are siblings Joseph (Sandra) Lucas of Lexington Indiana, Sandy (Kerry) Wardino of Tampa Florida, John William (Cheryl) Lucas of Laura Illinois, Ellen (Randy) Seelye of Creve Coeur Illinois , Keeth Lucas of Scottsburg Indiana, Kelli (Ronnie) Thomas of Austin Indiana, Kris (Carleen) Lucas of Cave City Kentucky, Kevin (Beckie) Lucas of Scottsburg Indiana, Kyle (Sherry Lee) Lucas of Austin Indiana, and a plethora of nieces nephews and cousins. We would like to give a special thank you to her cousin Angela Rendleman who helped care for Sherry in her time of need. She was preceded in death by her father John Lucas; daughter Candy Francesca Lucas, and three siblings Juanita Case, Stephen Pearly, and John McRoy.
Sherry was a kind and giving person who treated everyone like family. She loved to fish and garden. She also loved butterflies, frogs, and hummingbirds. Oh, and don’t forget, of course she was obsessed with Christmas. She really enjoyed the little things in life. Celebrating with her family was a constant event for her, especially when children were involved. Therefore, in lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in her name be made to the HOI Big Brothers Big Sisters Program or Ronald McDonald House of Peoria.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at Revive Church 3212 Springfield Rd. East Peoria IL on June 30 at 5:30 PM. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and a dinner will follow. All are welcome to come celebrate with us. illinicremation.com has assisted the family.
