Tonya Renee Thompson

Tonya Renee Thompson, 52, of Pekin Illinois, died on June 21, 2023 at OSF Richard L Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Born on June 22, 1970 in Pekin Illinois to Leonard and Rita (Jennings) Smith, she married William “Joe” Thompson on November 12, 2004 in Pekin. He survives.

Tonya loved to draw and paint. She was a talented artist and enjoyed making things for her loved ones. She loved watching movies and spending time with her husband, her cat Sebastian, her family, and friends. Tonya adored her grandchildren and talked about them often.

Tonya is survived by her husband Joe; son Sean (Alisha) Stolz; daughter Nichole Tennison; son Gabe Thompson; grandchildren Corey, Brody, Silas, Kobe and Emilia all of Pekin; Sister Gina Smith; Brothers Leonard Smith and Ed Davis; and niece Kayla Stanton. 

Cremation rites have been accorded. 

 A celebration of life will be held at the Eagles club located at 247 Derby St. Pekin, IL on Saturday July 8th, from 1-5pm.
