Victor L. Griffin

Victor L. Griffin, aged 67, passed away on September 25, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents (“Grandma Pat”), his older brother and older sister Valerie of Deer Creek and Florida.

He was born on October 24th, 1956, in Peoria, IL. He was a graduate of Limestone High School and went on to attend Illinois Central College to become a respiratory therapist. His career ranged from working in the neonatal intensive care unit, to a sleep lab and lastly, in home health care where his patients thought very highly of him.

In his free time, Vic took great pride in caring for the landscaping of his yard and always had an outdoor project to work on. He had a great love for classic icons such as Marilyn Monroe, John Lennon and David Bowie. He enjoyed rock music, liked to play volleyball in his younger years, was an animal lover and had a passion for chocolate.

More than anything, Vic was a loving father. He loved spending time with his two children, playing games, making forts, watching their favorite TV shows and pulling an occasional prank on them.

He will be fondly remembered by his son, Ian Henderson (Rachel O’Kane) of Dunlap, IL, his daughter, Kira Griffin of Peoria, IL, and his younger sister Amy Rigg of Florida. Vic was married to Lisa Fix-Griffin for 25 years and an enduring connection remained.

An informal memorial celebration of life will be held on his birthday, October 24th from 5-8 pm at Barrack’s Cater Inn Fireside Room Location. No flowers please.  e is being taken care of by Illini Cremation.
